Sucked big time. Big disappointment. It's not even an okay movie. Don't be misled by the nice trailers like me. I was looking forward to seeing it kasi Steven Gould's novels had good reviews. Honestly, it had a very good premise. David Rice lives a tough life. His dad's a jerk, he's being bullied in school, his mom left when he was 5. So when he finds out he can teleport, he runs away from his crappy life, goes on a stealing spree. Cut to 8 years later. He lives in New York City, with several "jumps" to amazing places around the world, and lives his life to excess. Enter Roland (Samuel L. Jackson in a horrendous dye job -- Dante he ain't) and several unnamed Paladins whose sole job is to kill jumpers everywhere.

It could have been a good movie if not for the plot holes, which are plenty let me tell you. I had some reservations about the movie because i didn't like Hayden in his previous movies. But since i read good reviews about the books and the premise looks interesting enough, i decided to watch it with my brother. But it ranked even with Queen of the Damned in its crappiness. It's one of those movies i wish i could erase from memory. Good premise but the delivery was meh. I rolled my eyes plenty of times during the movie, either for the not-in-a-good-way-cheesiness of the love story or for the stupidity of some of the characters.

The one star is for the nice intro into David's past, Jamie Bell's character named Griffin, the beautiful scenery, and the action scenes -- although in my opinion the action scenes were just excuses to show off some computer graphics. We're probably better off reading the novels.

As i was watching the Senate hearing kanina about the "kidnapping" of Jun Lozada, i can't help but smirk whenever i hear people say the phrase in the interest of truth. Actually ang nangyari is Lozada's word against all of them. Hay, paano ba natin malalaman kung sino ang nagsasabi ng totoo? Pero ako lang, mas paniniwalaan ko na si Lozada, knowing the track record of the present administration.

It's Anne Rice's latest book. You know, she of the Interview with a Vampire fame. I've FINALLY bought a copy and have finished reading it. I might make a proper review one of these days, depends on my mood. Right now i'm too lazy . So for now let me say that it didn't disappoint and i'm looking forward to the next installments.

Oh yeah, DMC4's out already. Woohoo! Although... we won't be getting ours until next week, it won't hit the stores here until then. We've already reserved a copy and we're number 14. Sucks. I'm hoping they have enough copies or at least one of the 13 decided not to get theirs. Fervently praying for one or the other.

How will you vote?

Shit man, every few months nagkakagulo na lang ang gobyerno natin. This time around, the House Speakership (is there such a word?) is the topic of controversies. In the off chance that you didn't know, there was a motion yesterday to declare the position of House Speaker as vacant. Bakit nila inaalis si HS De Venecia? Apparently, and i believe this to be true, pakana ito ng mga kaalyado ni PGMA in retaliation for Joey De V's accusations against the First Family. At syempre pinagunahan ito ng isa sa dalawang anak ni Gloria na nasa Lower House at ng isang kamag-anak ng Unang Ginoo. Syempre lahat ng tuta ni Gloria sumunod na.

As i was listening to the votation last night, i asked myself, if i were a Representative, which way would i go?

On the one hand, if i say NO, i would be voting for a person who has been a STAUNCH supporter of the Macapagal-Arroyo's na kaya lang nawala sa good graces ni GMA eh dahil kay Joey. Hello, he has been in the position for 5 terms, roughly 15 years na! And he had the nerve to call for a moral revolution. I was waiting for him to choke on his words, seriously. And he firmly said that he will not resign from the position. Talk about power-grabbing. I'm betting na lahat ng sinabi nya during his privilege speech eh totoo. Kaso, ang kinalabasan nya eh sourgraper sya. I can just imagine his sama ng loob. Pwedeng ikamatay ng tao yan.

On the other hand, if i vote YES, i would be giving the legislative to Gloria on a silver platter. Shit man, hows about the check and balance system of the three branches? Jeez, Louise.

I'm not saying that the legislative was not under her thumb during JDV's time. It was. Tapos ang ipapalit is another tuta of Gloria? HALER! But you know what, ilang impeachment cases na ang na-file against her, hindi natuloy because of JDV. Grabe nga naman pag nagkahiwalay ng landas ang mga politiko.

I tried to listen to the explanations of the Representatives when they voted. And really, it disgusted me. They're hypocrites, the lot of them. It was so bad of me but every time a Representative voted YES, i thought, wow nabili sya ni Gloria, regardless of whatever his/her reason for voting that way. There were some though, who made me cheer. One was Teddy Casino's and the other was Dilanganen (i think). Walang pasikot-sikot. They told it as it is.

And to answer the question, i would have voted NO. I'm going to go with whom i think is the lesser evil. Kasi tingin ko, JDV is already disgruntled na eh. I'm hoping that he learned his lesson. And just so that Gloria would not regain control of the Lower House.

ARGH!

Exams are finished, for now. I don't think i did very well on my last exam. Siguro naging kampante ako or maybe because i felt all my exams were finished already . Sheesh. I can honestly say i didn't do my best. Dammit, sana mahabol ko pa sa finals, nakakahiya. Hay, sana na lang hindi nahuli yung civpro exam ko, i didn't study very well eh.

Anyway, in a few weeks time, siguro mga 4, finals naman ang haharapin ko. Ang dali nga lang ng 2nd half ng sem na to eh, maaga daw kasi yung holy week. Syempre pipilitin ng mga prof na matapos yung coverage ng subjects nila, lugi naman kami kung hindi.

Tomorrow start na ng conflicts of law. JP approached me and asked me if i could represent our school in a shooting competition, if there is one. I told him no. Kahit na i do target shooting sometimes, hindi naman ako for competition haha. I just do it for recreation and practice of course.

Akira had his birthday yesterday. I forgot to ask him how old he is already. Baka mga 23 or 24 na sya. We were supposed to go out today and celebrate pero wala pa daw syang pera and some of our friends had exams pa. So probably next week na lang.

I still haven't seen any of the movies showing in local cinemas. I want to see Sweeney Todd, AVP2, and 27 Dresses. Now that exams are over, i could probably find the time to watch them na. Maybe tomorrow after hearing mass.

Wasn't able to go swimming with my brother and Pam. Pareho kasi kaming may exam ng kapatid ko bukas, tapos si Pam may lakad rin. Hay.
