"Ma'am, I'm SORRY! I interchanged my answers for numbers 4 and 7. It was an accident. I am hoping for your kind consideration. Thank you."

...was the only thing i could say. To those who don't know, most law professors i know give extra credit for answers which are neat, free from erasures, and are grammatically correct. So i try to organize my thoughts first before writing down my final answers. I couldn't redo my whole exam kasi malapit nang mag-time. So i told our proctor what happened. She advised me to write Atty. B. a note na lang, explaining what happened.

Haay, bloopers nga talaga. I wonder if it'll cost me. Grabe when i realized what i did, parang gumuho yung mundo ko. What if kung sa bar nangyari sakin yun? Bagsak na siguro ako for that particular subject. I agree, she's a nice lady. Huhuhu...
Ask me where i'm at. I'm at Magsalin Hall, "testing" the new wi-fi system in school when i should be studying for my exam later. Gyahaha.

Any excuse to be online.

So, finished with ADR, Nego, and PIL already. A couple more to go. I'm feeling pretty good with my ADR and PIL. You should have seen me after my Nego exams; i was panicking because i still have to study for my next exam, i haven't eaten anything for the day, AND i was windang because of Nego. Gaddemit.

======

Still i spent most of the time chatting with Ate Bons. We discussed and memorized a couple of things for PIL but we spent most of our time talking about cyberspace, chatting, and life in general. Good thing we went to the classroom ahead of time, our exam started an hour early HAHA.

Thank you to Dean Pamaaran. Your help was much appreciated, specially with number 10! Ask Glenn for the 20 .

======

I love Jollibee na. Well, the branch nearest our school that is. Kasi our delivery only took about 15 mins lang, and i was really hungry that time. Dial 8-7000 na rin kayo. Php165 lang minimum nila. We called KFC first pero theirs was Php250 plus 10% delivery charge pa. Gudlak.

This is a bit freaky.

SYDNEY (AFP) - An Australian girl spontaneously switched blood groups and adopted her donor's immune system following a liver transplant in the first known case of its type, doctors treating her said Thursday.

Demi-Lee Brennan was aged nine and seriously ill with liver failure when she received the transplant, doctors at a top Sydney children's hospital told AFP.

Nine months later it was discovered that she had changed blood types and her immune system had switched over to that of the donor after stem cells from the new liver migrated to her bone marrow.

She is now a healthy 15-year-old, Michael Stormon, a hepatologist treating her, told AFP. Stormon said he had given several presentations on the case around the world and had heard of none like it.

"It is extremely unusual -- in fact we don't know of any other instance in which this happened," Stormon told AFP from the Children's Hospital.

"In effect she had had a bone marrow transplant. The majority of her immune system had also switched over to that of the donor."

An article on the case was published in Thursday's edition of the leading US medical journal The New England Journal of Medicine.

Doctors who treated Brennan say she is now only under treatment as an outpatient and are interested to know if the case could have other applications in transplant surgery, where rejection of donor organs by the recipient's immune system is a major hurdle.

Stormon said it appeared that Brennan may have been fortunate because a "sequence of serendipitous events", including a post-transplantation infection, may have given the stem cells from her donor's liver the chance to proliferate.

The task now was to establish whether the same sort of outcome could be replicated in other transplant patients, he said.

* Wouldn't it be freakier if years from now this would be a normal thing? Uncanny X-Men comes to mind. What if isa na lang ang blood type sa buong mundo? idea Reposted from here.

And yes, i howled.
Labrel class ko today with Professor D. For the first time hindi sya pumasok. And i'm a bit bummed out kasi sana man lang we were told first hand that he wouldn't make it to class. Sayang sa gas, sa pera, saka sa oras. Or i could have watched AVP2 or Sweeney Todd na lang. Anyway, as usual i had something (read: complain) to say about it. As my friend who-shall-remain-anonymous told me when i complained to her on ym, "hay di ka pa nasanay sa beda", which i took to mean na hindi pa ko nasanay sa ugali ng ibang law professors ko sa Beda.

Truth of the matter is, i don't know why i'm complaining, really. When just before going to class i was hoping that he wouldn't come to class or that i wouldn't be called. You know, the usual prayers of a not-prepared-but-still-came-to-class student. So it got me to thinking, maybe i just like to gripe about things, i don't know. I think it makes me feel that something out of the ordinary happened to me. Pathetic i know. Does that make me a chronic complainer? Reminds me of Archie Alemania's gig in Wazzup, Wazzup as the Reklamador ng Bayan.

======

Jhundi lent me 3 cd's, one of them i'm looking forward to listening. It's Arwen's Illusions cd. I'm assuming their name is a reference to Tolkien's elven princess. Don't be misled though, they're not a pop/r&b mainstream group. They're a power metal band. Kewl.

======

My friend's sister had her appendix removed the other day so she's been staying with her sister for the last couple of days. Buti na lang naagapan yung appendix nya kasi diba pag nag-rupture yun poisonous sya? I remember my dad when he had his removed. He was hurting something bad from the pain.

======

Midterms in a few days time. I would like to say that i'm feeling confident with some of my subjects kasi wala akong backlog but i'm afraid it might backfire on me. So i'm just hoping that i would be able to study enough so that i could get good grades this sem. I'm always thinking of the dreaded gwa. I'm feeling a bit envious kasi my other friends are finished na with their midterms. Most of them are going to the movie theaters na. Haay...

======

So what's on tv? They're showing a new season of Project Runway on ETC. Looking forward to more of Heidi Klum, Micheal Kors, and Nina Garcia. Also Amazing Race Asia 2 is down to 5 groups. Of course i'm rooting for Marc and Rovilson! I'm hating the dancing moms. They caused the Japanese sibling's early elimination from the show. Boooo! Nota Bene: Allan Wu's arms (he was wearing a sando) and the guy who greets the teams at the pit stop.

And then there's American Idol, a perennial favorite of mine. Especially the audition shows. Was the guy who was wearing a white outfit and who sang "You Are My Brother" to Simon et al a Pinoy? Cause his song is going around on my head. That was one of the times where even though they were humoring a hopeful, they were pretty nice about it. Seriously, what Simon said might be true -- his song might become a hit record. Already they're showing it as a teaser/commercial for future shows. I know i couldn't sing to save my life but some of those auditioning are clearly delusional. Makes for good tv though.

Okay, so my younger brother attended his first alumni homecoming since he graduated from high school. Which is not so long ago (read: last year lol). Anyway, when he got home he immediately went to my room and asked me if his eyes were red. Weirded out, i told him no and asked why. He semi-proudly told me that he took a couple of shots. Tequila? No. Just good ole Red Horse Beer (Ito ang tama! huuwhapaaack!). I'm not opposed to anyone drinking, it's your life. I just told him not to go on drinking binges and become an alcoholic. Not cool. I'd like to say something to the school administrators for serving alcohol to minors though, he's only 17. Haha just kidding. About the saying something to the admin part. I'm not a hypocrite.

I noticed that although his eyes weren't red, he looked a bit flushed. And of course i advised him not to drink on an empty stomach. And imparted some more words of wisdom from experience -- my friends', not mine. mrgreen
Sorry for the quality of the photos, i was using a Nokia cam phone. Anyway, check out the kids on the jeepney. The one on the right, wearing a red shirt, had his eyes closed. I don't know if it's because he was scared (we were on the service road), if he was sleeping (my first thought -- honest), or if he was just closing his eyes.

This one i saw on my way home from school. It's as if God was pointing something out. Have you ever seen The Nativity Story? It's like the scene when Jesus was born and the light from the three stars shone down on him, only this one is in broad daylight. I don't think i would ever forget this. I wanted to stop my car and just take it in. I couldn't though 'cause there were plenty of cars behind me (i checked).
Pictures from our dinner at Conti's Serendra.

Their Fish and Chips were above average so i'd still recommend it. I like Mr. Rockefeller's (at Greenbelt) version better though.

My friend had this salad. Forgot what's it called though; i didn't try it but she said she liked it and would order it again.

Not a big fan of chocolate cake. My friend ordered this Choco Overload (i think it's called -- again, not paying attention haha).

Now this is what i ordered for dessert: a Blueberry Cheesecake. Notice that i couldn't help myself from taking a bite. Best cheesecake i ever tasted. And cheaper than the one they offer at Starbucks, which i didn't like so much.

After eating, we went around for a bit. Let me just say that this place is heaven on earth. At least for me. Several floors of books plus a coffee house. And a basement dedicated to graphic novels and mangas. I saw a Wolverine Origins graphic novel.
I am now begging money from my parents.

Happy

Actually, my brother helped me teach her also. Hindi yung "scientific" swimming strokes ha, just enough so that she'll be able to go snorkeling. So basics lang: floating, flutter kicks, and hand strokes. And some breathing exercises. She can now go the width of the pool in one breath. Today she tried her hand at floating on her back. She's finding it a bit tricky kasi she's afraid pa. Eventually she'll get the hang of it. After that we're going to try and teach her how to tread water.

======

As the sun began to set, it lit up the sky in shades of red and pink. I wish i could have taken a picture. It was so poetic, God painting the sky with flames. It was a nice feeling, floating on your back with your eyes looking to the heavens.

Balita

======

======

Between their private investigation and the findings of the PNP, FBI, and Australian specialist, parang mas paniniwalaan ko yung findings nung ikalawang grupo.

======

Gabriel

He would have made a good Gambit.
But i want to see a Gambit-Rogue-Iceman love triangle.
So maybe Channing Tatum would have been a better choice, if ever.
Oh well.
It's moot and academic now.
Unless...
They do a retcon.

Nuts for Toffee Nut

I am craving for one right about now...

Nevoj's life lesson

A good friend of mine told me that we should never obligate nor compel the person we love to do something for us; we should never put that burden on that person. If we shouldn't obligate nor compel, is it okay to expect certain things from them, like loyalty, understanding, patience, or even help from time to time? confused

On being strong

Iya forwarded this to me:

It's fun being a strong person. You feel invincible, like you can face anything that comes your way. But you know when it sucks being one? It's when people know that you're strong and they think it's okay to hurt you.

Feel na feel ko sya. I would like to add though, it hurts also when people take you for granted -- hate ko to! Your friends forget kasi that you're just human. They think you're bionic na (as Juris said).

My Coffee Prince...

REAL-LIE-zations

Ho hum. So it's 2008. I wonder what's going to happen to me this year. Last year i made a lot of changes in my life kasi, as Oprah would say, i had a lot of Aha! moments. Most of them were pretty big changes. One thing i do miss is the friends i made dun sa dati kong pinapasukan. Pero i am thankful also because i met new ones.

======

This year i would like to have a closer relationship with my mom.

======

Last year i realized that some people whom i call friends take me for granted; they don't me in their lives, they need the resources i can provide them in their lives. Wala pa akong concrete plans kung anong gagawin ko about that. I'm hurt - i didn't know that people i trusted would do that to me. I'm angry - with myself that is, kasi i let myself be used like that; gullible nga ako. I'm relived - kasi at least now i'm aware and i now know who my friends are. Sana i could just tell those people to kiss my ass.
